Two book set

Two books about African-Americans in science - "Book of Black Heroes - Scientists, Healers and Inventors" by Wade Hudson and "Black Americans in Science and Engineering" edited by Eugene Winslow. Both books are softcover with a picture and a one page biography of several different historical and contemporary scientists. Included are Benjamin Banneker, Jan Matzeliger, Elijah McCoy, Frederick Jones, Percy Julian, Madame CJ Walker, George Carruthers, Ben Carson, Bessie Coleman, Ronald McNair, Garret Morgan, Charles Drew and many more. The first book has 70 pages and the later has 29 pages. Together these two books highlight an often under-represented area of African-American achievement. Ages 10 & up
